Tape-compartments

Do you use a lot of thick tape or know someone who does. When they run out of tape, don't throw them in trash, there is a way to use them.

Purpose: For those who need small compartments in which they can store small things like jewelry.

Supplies you will need:
- tape leftovers (picture above)
- uneeded fabric or socks (easiest)
- scissors
- thread and needle
- pencil
- hard cardboard or thin wood

Step 1
Place cardboard on straight surface and place the tape leftover above. With pencil trace outside line of the tape leftover. Make as many as you need.

Step 2
Cut the round parts from the cardboard. Make them a little smaller than the line you made at step 1 but not too small so they are tight fit when you place them inside the tape leftover.
If you know someone who can cut them out easier on machine, it is that much easier. Mine were laser cut.

Step 3
Take sock you don't need anymore and put the tape leftover inside it. It should be tight. Measure how much more sock you need for the inside as well so that the cardboard would tighten even the insides. When measuring of the fabric is done, cut the leftover.
(Second option: using top parts of the sock which usually have a pattern. Cut above the part that is meant for the heel. Turn the sock on the wrong side. With thread and needle sew around the edge, tighten it together, make sure you sew it well so it won't get loose then turn the sock back to the right side. Put the tape leftover inside and follow the same procedure described in this step).

Step 4
Insert the cardboard. Simple.
Additional idea?
Do you want to use these compartments to hang your short earrings? Easy.
You need a few buttons with 4 holes. Before you insert the cardboard, sew the buttons (only 2 holes) to the edge of the tape.

Then you insert the cardboard and you can start hanging your earrings inside the other two holes of the buttons.
